My journey began thousands of kilometers away, in the heart of India’s textile industry. As a Textile Engineer, I spent years working behind the scenes for major global brands, ensuring the quality of exports to the USA, Europe, and Australia. I learned exactly what makes a fabric breathe, how it drapes, and importantly—how it lasts.
When I moved to Australia in 2023, I fell in love with the vibrant culture and lifestyle, but quickly noticed a gap. It was hard to find garments and accessories that were truly natural. The market was flooded with synthetic blends and fast fashion.
I started Thari to change that. I wanted to combine my technical expertise in fabric construction with the soulful, generational artistry of Indian craftsmanship.
